At Mishler’s Country Store you will find a huge variety of bulk foods, bulk spices, produce, canned and jar goods, kitchen utensils, oil lamps, herbal medicines, doilies, cookbooks, candy, gifts, toys, and more. 

Mishler’s is open year-round: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday. Please note there are no phones in the Amish community.

The largest Amish settlement in Wisconsin, the Dalton-Kingston settlement, is a leisurely drive from Adeline’s House of Cool.  During your stay at Adeline’s experience the uniqueness of Amish living!  Stop and visit…buy a little bit of the Amish culture. The Amish businesses are usually open on weekdays; closed holidays and Sundays, which is their day of worship.

When driving through the town of Dalton, you’ll notice many stores dotting the streets and highways where you can shop for Amish-made goods. Barry Road is lined with stores showcasing wood-crafted goods, produce, bakery items and more.

Lilac Wood Shop is a must-stop, offering hand-crafted oak and cherry furniture from complete bedroom sets to outdoor lounge furniture. Across the street is the very popular Mishler’s Country Store. Here you’ll find a wide array of goods from bulk spices to canned items to doilies (some Amish-produced and others items as well). As you wander the backroads around Kingston and Dalton look for places like Pleasant View Bakery and Oven Fresh Bakery where you can buy homemade bread, pies, candies, and jams to enjoy when you get back to Adeline’s or your home.

The Kingston/Dalton settlement was founded in 1977 and has grown to 9 congregations.

The Kingston-Dalton-Marquette, Redgranite, and Richford areas are home to a number of authentic Amish retail specialty shops selling handcrafted furniture to lumber, general store items to fresh produce, greenhouses, cheese, and candy, and much more…all within easy driving distance to each other.

The Amish still follow the traditions of their ancestors in their daily living. Horse-drawn buggies, kerosene lanterns, subdued-color clothing, bonnets, and straw hats can still be seen today, and are known for their exceptionally well-made wood furniture, cabinetry, baked goods, beautiful quilts, and much more.
